These tablet computers are designed specifically for kids usage, for children aged 2-14 years, with age-appropriate content loaded right onto the tablet, along with games, apps and parental controls. Tablet devices are shaping the lives of youths around the world, not just at home but in the classroom, too. According to Nielsen, about 70 percent of children in homes with tablet computers use the devices for education and entertainment on a regular basis.

What’s so different about kid-focused tablets?
The key focus of these kids’ tablets is a combination of both interactive educational tools and play activities that engage, delight, and encourage learning with age-appropriate, skill-leveling activities. For example, the LeapPad 2 by Leapfrog has built-in software that detects a child’s learning level and matches the activities to their level of competence to encourage participation. As the child’s skills improve, the games and activities increase the skill level competency to provide on-going challenges with more advanced curriculum.
Besides being incredible devices for education, these tablets are also equipped with 2-way cameras, reading libraries, photo galleries, creativity apps, and more. Additional software to increase the learning potential is available with hundreds of age-specific, subject-specific topics, covering language and literacy, math and science, and more.
